Reed holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Michigan State University and is currently a student in the Master of Social Work program at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. They are an Advanced Clinical Social Work Intern under the supervision of Kate MacShane, LCSW-C.


Reed will be able to provide telehealth sessions for clients physically located in Maryland. They will be seeing clients in person in our Frederick office.

Reed will be able to provide telehealth sessions for clients physically located in Maryland. They will be seeing clients in person in our Frederick office.



Reed is a nonbinary, white, neurodivergent therapist-in-training who hopes to cultivate therapeutic relationships with gentleness and acceptance. Reed believes in the power of connection to our bodies, to our creative selves, and to each other.


Reed has drawn from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills with groups and plans to expand their training to include art therapy, somatic practices, and acceptance and commitment therapy. As an undergraduate student, Reed focused their research on the effects of trauma. They also have worked as a caretaker for children of all ages and are inspired by children’s ability to be their full selves and explore the world through play. Reed is currently enrolled in EMDR Basic Training with Deany Laliotis of the Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy.


During their foundation year, Reed worked with middle school students focusing on anger management, self-esteem, and identity. They have also volunteered with The Trevor Project as a crisis counselor, where they were honored to connect with and provide support to adolescents and young adults at vulnerable moments in their lives.
