Support Groups

Find connection, resources, and community.

Clinicians at the Maryland Center for Gender & Intimacy are proud to serve as contract facilitators for free community support groups offered by The Frederick Center, Frederick’s LGBTQ+ community advocacy and support nonprofit organization.

On behalf of The Frederick Center, we currently facilitate the following groups:

TRANSFAMILY (ADULTS 18+)

TransFamily is The Frederick Center’s free, biweekly support group for parents/caregivers/family members of transgender young people. Calvin Ryan, LMSW, a wonderful therapist in our practice, facilitates this group for the Frederick Center, Frederick's LGBTQ community organization. TransFamily is a warm, welcoming, nonjudgmental space for people at all stages of their journeys to receive support, share resources, and connect with other adults in similar situations. No need to pre-register or sign up in advance. Join us anytime!

The group meets on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 10-11:30 am. On the first Saturday, we meet in person at The Frederick Center. On the third Saturday, we meet virtually via Zoom.
