Wei Reidy, LGPC

Psychotherapist
pronouns: she/they

Wei holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and a Master of the Arts in Counseling Psychology from Towson University.

Wei is licensed in Maryland and provides telehealth sessions for clients physically located in Maryland. They see clients in person in our Ellicott City office.

Wei is a multiracial, multi-ethnic (Chinese, Irish, Taiwanese) queer therapist. Through a systemic and integrative approach, Wei draws from narrative, relational cultural, and internal family systems theories. She practices from a justice-centered, liberation focused, and nature-informed therapy (NIT) orientation.

Wei has clinical experience working with adolescents, adults, families, and people in various stages of life transitions. Wei regularly incorporates experiential, expressive, somatic, and values-based activities; especially from a “co-therapizing with nature” paradigm. Wei is a Certified Nature-Informed Therapist and works to empower clients to nourish their own relationship with the natural world. When indicated, she enjoys meeting with clients outdoors. Wei recognizes the longstanding realities and present-day practices of traditional ways and indigenous psychological practices, which have been both suppressed and co-opted by the West. They aim to honor the roots of ancestral healing and medicine systems, in global solidarity.

Through this work, Wei hopes to expand the models of movement and play therapy for adults as an opportunity for cultural remembering and connection. Wei is also an APIMEDA (Asian, Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, Desi American) cultural event curator, and has led several collective grief and joy rituals for APIMEDA and QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous People of Color) communities. Wei has completed EMDR Basic Training with Deany Laliotis of the Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy.
